Abarth’s fastest model, the 695 Biposto packs a racing performance into the body of a city car. Sporty, athletic and a good looking, it’s a fine asset to boast, especially if you’re an urban driver.
Replicating the dinky body shape of a Fiat 500 with added sporting finesse, it manages to be both charming and assertive to look at. With its rear carbon diffusers and heftier rear spoiler, its more aerodynamic. Plus, it is the first car produced for the road to have optional polycarbonate windows that are ultra-light and strong, adding to its swift performance. Eye-catching details include a honeycomb grille built into the chunky low-set bumper, 18-inch alloy wheels and Bremo brake callipers.
The Sabelt sports seats, partly clothed in leather, set the sporty tone for the interior. Its matched by the flat-bottomed steering wheel, two-seat arrangement and clean dashboard, with the eye-catching circular TFT instrument cluster making a statement. A feeling of space and openness is afforded by flat doors that are simply adorned with a loop handle and elasticated netting for holding any items you want close by. Stripped back, it removes the heavy technology in preference for an ultra-swift drive.
Based on the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione race car, the 695 Biposto is powerful and exceptionally fun to drive. It can sprint to 60mph in less than six seconds and reach speeds of 143mph, providing best-in-class acceleration. It’s down to the weight to power ratio of 5kg to 2hp and the four-cylinder powertrain that puts out 190bhp and 250Nm of torque at 2,500rpm. Both the front and rear axles have Extreme Shox racing springs which give it a lively performance.
The fixed aluminum Bremo callipers and ventilated brake disks provide extremely strong braking so you can retain composure while you drive.
It means that you can hit corners with speed and then quickly slow down to stay safe.
