Described by What Car? as “the best city car around”, the Hyundai i10 is a fun-to-drive vehicle that offers a comfortable ride in its roomy cabin. This compact car is available in a number of trim levels, ranging from S to Premium SE.
The handsome i10 features an expansive windscreen that provides good visibility over a sloping bonnet.
The vehicle’s impactful front-end is adorned with Hyundai’s distinctive trapezoidal grille, which is flanked by sleek headlights and daytime running lights. Further illumination includes a rear spoiler-integrated brake light, which distinguishes the vehicle’s rear fascia.
SE Blue grades feature body-coloured door handles and (electrically adjustable and heated) door mirrors and a black B pillar, while Premium trims add 14-inch alloy wheels.
Despite its compact dimensions, the i10’s cabin provides a roomy environment for up to five travellers. Adjustable head restraints are included for all, and the driver also benefits from a height-adjustable steering. Other standard features include power-assisted steering, power-operated front windows and two front-compartment 12-volt power points. A number of cubby spaces, such as front and rear door pockets and multiple bottle-holders, are featured too. Split-folding rear seats (60/40) enable a minimum-capacity 252-litre boot to be expanded to as much as 1,046 litres, with S and SE Premium trims.
SE trim or above possess air-conditioning, with driver’s seat adjustability, power-operated front and rear windows along with one-touch window control on the driver’s side.
Installed with entry-level S grades is a 65bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. This delivers up to 60.1mpg and a 108g/km CO2 emission figure. The same engine, fitted to SE Blue trims, offers even greater fuel-efficiency: as much as 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 98g/km.
An MP3-compatible CD player and an RDS radio come with two loudspeakers and USB and AUX connectivity. Driver aids include Electronic Stability Programme, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist System and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Front-row airbag-deactivation facility, child-proof rear doors, ISOFIX child-seat anchorage points, seatbelt reminders and seatbelt pre-tensioners are among the vehicle’s passive safety features.
