The all-new Tucson possesses a subtly contoured body, plenty of standard equipment and a good-size boot. This practical SUV is ideal for free-spirited families and comes in five trim levels: S, SE, SE Nav, Premium and Premium SE.
The appealingly chunky Tucson features an impactful front fascia, dominated by a three-louvered trapezoidal grille. The vehicle’s flanks are distinguished by stylish and lightweight 16-inch alloy wheels and tinted glass. Body-coloured elements include bumpers, door handles and (power-adjustable and heated) door mirrors. A range of standard lighting includes automatic dusk-sensing headlights, LED positioning lights, LED daytime running lights and a rear spoiler-integrated LED brake light.
A well-built five-person cabin is fitted with vertically and horizontally adjustable head restraints, and rear-row seats offer recline functionality. A height-adjustable seat and a rake-and-reach-adjustable steering column allow the driver to establish his or her optimal driving position. S grades can be selected with a 1.7-litre 114bhp diesel engine.
This is the most fuel-efficient option available for the Tucson, returning as much as 61.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 119g/km.
A 2.0-litre 182bhp diesel unit offers optimal potency, producing 400Nm of torque and 0-60mph in approximately 9.7 seconds.
Both options are paired with six-speed manual transmission and feature Intelligent Stop & Go.
Audio entertainment is provided by a six-speaker sound system, which includes an RDS radio, an MP3-compatible CD player and DAB digital radio, and can be operated using steering wheel-mounted controls. Bluetooth connectivity and USB and AUX ports are featured as standard too.
The Tucson comes with a five-star rating, as awarded by Euro NCAP. Driver aids include Electronic Stability Programme, Vehicle Stability Management, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist System, Downhill Brake Control, Hill-start Assist and Trailer Stability Assist. Height-adjustable front seatbelts, seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX anchorage points, child-proof locks, six airbags and speed-sensitive automatic door locking are among the vehicle’s passive safety features.
