The inaugural Hot Hatch Challenge took place on Monday 17th April at Castle Combe Circuit. This series of races is for a wide mix of non-turbo saloon cars, of any age, and is already drawing large grids and some very competitive racing!
Former 'Saloon Car' championship contender, Bristol's Nick Mizen is Simonstone's sponsored race driver. He competed in the Hot Hatch Challenge in his 1.6 litre Fiesta, having previously campaigned a Rover Turbo and MG ZR. On the first race, he qualified in 4th place, but finished in an impressive 3rd place in the race. His fastest lap was 1:21:80, which was a very strong time.
There are 4 more races in the series, and with a bit more work to be done on the car, Nick is confident of improvement on his 3rd place finish forst time round.
