Simonstone are proud to have supported the Stroke Association, at Supercar Saturday on October 29th, at Castle Combe Circuit.
Driver Nick Mizen, took members of the public out on the track in the wonderful Abarth 595. The passengers donated money in exchange for the thrilling experience, with the money going towards helping people affected by strokes.
Racing for over 30 years, Nick has won numerous ‘Class’ races all over the UK. Nick’s quickest lap in the Abarth was 1:28:89 seconds, which was fantastic in the wet conditions. Nick said ‘The car drove brilliantly in the wet conditions. It felt like it was the quickest car on the track. Everyone who came out with me was completely surprised by the performance of the Abarth. Thank you very much Simonstone and Ian Jones for donating the car, to help raise money for this wonderful charity’.
As well as laps of the track, Simonstone also had the Abarth range on display near the Stroke Association’s gazebo. These cars always attract a crowd!
Simonstone’s Operations Director, Ian Jones, commented “We were delighted to help the Stroke Association in such a fun way, and really pleased to have been involved in raising over £13,000 for such a great cause.”
The official total raised at Supercar Saturday 2016 was £13,578 – the most successful year to date.
